Match Report – 4th Team vs Southgate

With a more balanced team this week of Youngsters and Seniors, Raj won the toss and put Southgate into bat.

Tight bowling from Sareen Patel and New Boy Hiten Varsani the start breaking through to restrict Southgate batsman.

The ever tight bowling from Dev Venkat with a spell of 20-4-40-4 reduced Southgate down to 6 down. A bit of resistance for the 7th wicket saw Southgate reach 181/7 in 50 overs. It was down to the Kenton boys to chase down 181 in 42 overs.

That we did with a great start from Vimalraj and Baskey. No not that Baskey, but his friend with the same name!!!

They put on 65 for the first wicket in 12 overs. With the same momentum Vimalraj and the Skipper continued the run chase.

Vimalraj dispatched the Southgate attack to all parts. Scoring a fine 52 Vimaraj departed, soon after so did the skipper. It was down to the middle order a fine 33 not out by Dev Venkat and 18 not out from Junior Giffin (Joseph) took us home with 2.3 overs to spare.
