Kenton CC 1st XI vs Ealing Trailfinders CC 1st XI
The 1s travelled to Ealing Trailfinders and were made to bat first after stand in skipper Dilan Wanniarachchi lost the toss. The boys knew how important a win was here after narrowly missing out last week and were determined to put on a show. Even without skipper Dylan Assani, the lads were still very confident they could do the business. Schopun Jooma and Hem Shah, opening up for the 1s for the first time, started well before Hem was dismissed on 23. This didn’t stop Schops as he scored 68 (85) before being dismissed. Akshay Powale contributed with 35 and we batted all 55 overs and ended on 197/9. Charlie took 2 up front with the new ball before Kalpesh Kerai than through the ETCC lineup with 6-38 in 13 overs, including the big wicket of their keeper, before running through the middle and lower order. A truly remarkable spell from Kalpesh. Tejpal Jadeja also took the very important wicket of their skipper and Asif Mohammadi finished the job with a seed to get the final wicket. It’s 12 huge points for the 1s in their quest for promotion.

At 73/4, with Ajmal Jabrekheil, Yashil Kamdar and Prithvi Nakrani bowling well, we were in control however Chiswick managed to get up to 230ao after a couple of good partnerships. Viraj batted well for his 50 (67) opening the batting however we ended up with 186/8 from 47 and it was a losing draw. Shoutout to skipper Roshan for his 37* (57), as well as Milind Kamdar with 27 (23) and Yashil Kamdar with 12* (14) to ensure we secure the 2 points which are still invaluable in a tight scrap for promotion.

Ealing chased it pretty comfortably 4 down as Prishant Roy took 2 wickets to take him to 23 for the season and leaving him 3rd in the leading wicket takers list for Division 1. Loss for the 3s but they will bounce back next week in a huge game vs North London 3s.
