Kenton CC 1st XI vs Brentham CC 1st XI
The 1s travelled to Brentham and skipper Dylan won the toss and we were fielding first. The boys were without the in-form Kalpesh as he and his wife welcomed a little baby boy into the Kerai household, congratulations Kalpesh! Asif got us going with the wicket of their opener before Charlie and Dylan got a few more breakthroughs. We had Brentham 74/4 before partnerships helped get them to 219/9 in 45. Asif ended with 3, Dylan and Tejpal 2 each. The chase didn’t get off to the best of starts. We were 31/4 and then 97/6 but Owen still believed. His 83 (90), which included 5 fours and 3 sixes, got us close but the boys fell just short. 193 all out and loss by 26 runs.

Kenton CC 2nd XI vs Wembley CC 2nd XI
The 2s hosted bottom of the table Wembley and skipper Roshan won the toss and we were batting. The boys knew they needed a win to maintain any chance of promotion and knew they had to avoid any complacency. Saif and Viraj brought up well made 50s before they were dismissed, with Viraj making 61 (67) and Saif making 54 (68) before 48 (44) from Milind helped us get up to 257 all out. The Afghan duo of Shafiq and Ajmal got us going with the new ball to leave Wembley 79/6 as Shafiq took 3 and Ajmal 2 whilst Utkarsh also chipped in with 1. This was before Prithvi and Milind finished the job as Prithvi ended with 3, ending the game bowling to 5 slips and 2 gullys! Wembley were 121 all out and it was a big win by 136 runs!

Kenton CC 3rd XI vs Richmond CC 4th XI
The 3s travelled to Richmond to take on their 4s and we were batting after skipper Jonny Rye lost the toss. We think Rye was happy to lose the toss and bat as he brought up his first KCC ton opening the batting. Rye ended on 111 (111), hitting 15 fours in the process. What an innings it was to help get us up to 326/9. He was supported well by Rajiv, Puneet and Kaushlendra and there was a quick blitz from Abhishek at the end. Prishant got us going with the new ball taking 4, standard procedure from Prishant as he takes his tally to 27 for the season, just 1 off top spot in Division 1!. Abhishek also took 4 in his first 3 games of the season before spinners Zakirullah and Pranav came on to finish the job. Richmond were 85 all out in 32 overs. Fantastic win by 241 runs!

Kenton CC 4th XI vs Chiswick CC 3rd XI
The 4s hosted Chiswick 3s and were batting first after stand-in skipper Samit won the toss. The 4s welcomed Jonny Mills back to the club after a couple of years out and he opened the batting with Ankit. Ankit took the attack to the Chiswick bowling with 36 (23). Runs were flowing on a great batting surface however some poor shot selection meant we were 203 all out in just 34.3 overs. New uncle Devesh made 38 (31) before he hit one to mid-off and Sahil 25 (22). Rishabh and Rahil stuck around for a few overs before Rishabh chipped one back to the bowler. Chiswick started well with the bat, taking advantage of the short boundaries and great batting surface however Devesh’s 4-fer and a couple from Ankit made the game close. At 171/8, the boys were confident they could pull it off however it was not to be. An intense game went right down to the wire but Chiswick just got over the line. Loss by 2 wickets.

Kenton CC CV XI vs Boxmoor CC CV XI
The Chess Valley side hosted in the final Sunday game. It was an interesting start to the game as Boxmoor turned up with only 5 players and an umpire. Skipper Hem lost the toss and we were fielding. Prithvi got us going with 2 wickets, both caught behind. The first a great take at second slip by Roshan Patel and the second another great take behind the stumps from keeper Puneet. This was followed by a decent partnership of 125 before Dylan removed them both, going on to take 4. Hem also took a couple of wickets before the off-spin of Charlie Erdwin and then a quick, full delivery from Rishabh finished the job and we were chasing 240 in 45 overs. After picking the batting order out of a hat, Pranav and Dylan opened the batting and got us off to a flyer. Dyls ended on 59 (74), an innings that put a smile on groundsman Manoj's face, and Pranav was run out after 23 but it was skipper Hem Shah who got the crowd off their feet with his 103* (69), a fantastic innings hitting the ball to all parts of the ground that put an even bigger smile on groundsman Manoj's face! Hem hit 9 fours and 6 cracking sixes in his innings. He put on 73 with Rahil for the 3rd wicket who found himself in unfamiliar territory at number 4 in the batting order. A big promotion from number 11 and he stuck around with Hem before Saif came and helped him finish the job. Another win for the CV side by 7 wickets and they are champions of Division 2! A fantastic campaign for all those involved and a big shoutout has to go to skipper Hem who marshalled his troops fantastically in his debut season as skipper.
