The last week of the MCCL, and we finish the year with 2 CHAMPIONS and 40-LEAGUE POINTS...

'You guys never cease to amaze me both on and off the field. What an incredible end to the season, well done to you all!'
- Mark Giffin

1XI - won by 104 runs vs Harrow CC

Having secured promotion, the 1's travelled to Harrow CC in search of some silverware. They posted a convincing 231-8 off their 45 overs on a tricky wicket. The ever reliable Schopun Jooma scored 94, Imran Qayyum led the middle order with 25, and Viraj Patel finished the innings off with 36*. In reply, the Harrow batting line up never really took to the races, and all bowlers chipped in with fantastic spells, Imran Qayyum the main benefactor with figures of 3-14 (including 3 balls bowled with his right-arm!). Ultimately, Harrow CC fell well short of our target, and the 1XI were crowned CHAMPIONS of Division 2!

2XI - won by 5 wickets vs SKLPCC

The 2XI needed a win to guarantee safety in Division Two, and faced off against SKLPCC at the Alan Digby Ground. Having lost the toss, they were asked to bowl and would've been thrilled with the score at half-time. Despite a decent start by SKLPCC, the wrath of Cedric Mendes proved too strong, as he took 4-16 off his 9 overs, dismantling the middle order as SKLP fell to 117 a/o. In reply, the total was chased relatively easily even with the loss of 5 wickets, with the top order chipping in 15-25 runs each. And with that win the 2XI secured a spot in Division 2 in 2024.

3XI - won by 5 wickets vs Hampstead CC

Similar to the 2XI, the 3XI needed a win to retain their position in Division One the following year and that's exactly what they got. Skipper Sambo won the toss and elected to field first, a decision which proved to be a cracker, as Hampstead were skittled for 113. A destructive bowling effort, led by the bowling efforts of Yashil Kamdar (4-21) and Chairman Ankit Shah (4-26). A simple enough chase was observed in reply, with Waheedullah Ahmadzai (46) and Sajjad Sumar (20) standing tall, leading the boys home with 5 wickets to spare.

4XI - won by 185 runs vs Crouch End CC

This team is something else. They secured promotion a while back, became CHAMPIONS a few weeks ago and on Saturday they won by a whopping 185 runs. Hiren won the toss and elected to bat, and the 4's posted 251 runs off their 45. Three big innings' secured the total with Pranav Dave (49), Manoj Prasanga (53) and Saif Ahmed (37) ending their seasons well. Devesh Kerai proved to be the thorn in Crouch End's side, as he took 3-7 off his 9 with the new ball and was ably supported by Pranav Shah (3-3) and Abhishek Jha (2-21) as the 4XI cruised to victory within 23 overs, bowling Crouch End CC out for just 66.
