MCCL Weekly Round-Up: Gameweek 3 of the 2026 season

Here's how we did in GW3 of the MCCL...

Winchmore Hill CC 1st XI vs Kenton CC 1st XI

The 1s travelled to Winchmore Hill and on a great deck to bat on were bowling first. Skipper Dylan Assani got us underway with his 100th KCC 1st XI MCCL wicket. WHCC’s middle order powered them to a huge 308 despite Hem’s 3-89. Onto the chase and it was Viraj Patel who stood out with his blistering 122 (109). Viraj hit 19 fours and 2 sixes on his way to his ton, bringing up his 1500th MCCL 1st XI run for the club in the same innings. Owen O'Neill-Khaled and Dylan Assani hit 30s but it wasn’t enough and the 1s fell short by 29 runs.

Kenton CC 2nd XI vs Wycombe House CC 2nd XI

The 2s hosted Wycombe House CC and were also bowling first after skipper Kaushal Patel lost the toss. Ajmal Jabrekheil on his return to the 2s got us going with 2 early breakthroughs and Abhishek Jha in his first 2s game and Zakirullah Khiyal took 3 each to reduce House to 154. Ajmal ended with figures of 2-21 in 9 overs, Abhishek with 3-34 in 8 overs and Zaki with 3-41 in 8 overs. We made the chase more difficult than it should’ve been, Saj top scoring with 45 (46), hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes, but it was Prits 25* (28) that saw us home. Win by 3 wickets and a first win of the season for the 2s.

Brondesbury CC 3rd XI vs Kenton CC 3rd XI

3s were away to Brondesbury and were also bowling first after skipper Rishi Toor lost the toss. Raj Parmar blew away the top order with 3-26 in 10 overs as Brondesbury saw themselves 24-4 before Kaushlendra Singh tucked into the middle order and tail with 6-24 in 9,3 overs. 99 all out and the chase was completed with ease with Soneji and Rye both hitting 23. Win by 8 wickets.

Kenton CC 4th XI vs Brondesbury CC 4th XI

The 4s hosted Brondesbury 4s and were batting first after skipper Deepak Singh won the toss. Roshan Desai top scored with a fantastic 93 (89), hitting 11 fours and 3 sixes, and with the help of extras we got up to 279. Chirag Purohit was the pick of the bowlers with 4-36 and he was supported by Ketu Thakker's 2-44 and Jaisal Jansari's 2-37 as Brondesbury 4s were bowled out for 191. Win by 85 runs.

London Maccabi Vale CC CV XI vs Kenton CC CV XI

The CV side took on London Maccabi Vale and were bowling first after skipper Hem Shah lost the toss. Skipper Hem took 2-27 and Ketu took 3-41 but LMVCC still managed to post 284. The chase got going well with Hem and Saif Butt putting on 80 for the first wicket. Saif hit 58 (61), hitting 9 fours and Yug Patel in at 3 with 56 (77), hitting 8 fours but the CV side fell just short by 8 runs.
