Kenton CC 1st XI vs Brentham CC 1st XI
The 1s batted first against second in the table Brentham after skipper Dylan Assani won the tossm and let’s just say they made fantastic use of the new deck produced by groundsman Manoj Prasanga. Sajan Shah, in his first 1s game of the season, hit his first ball for 6 into the tennis courts, just the second ball of the match and it was just pure carnage from there. Viraj Patel and Sajan put on 231 for the opening stand, toying with the Brentham bowling. That partnership was a Kenton record, beating the previous best of 193 in 2023 by Schopun Jooma and Hamza Qayyum. Sajan was eventually dismissed on 105 (118) after hitting 15 fours and a 6. This did not stop the chaos as Viraj carried on blitzing the ball to all parts along with Owen O'Neill-Khaled, until finally being dismissed on 156 (120), the highest 1st XI score by a resident Kenton player and the second highest ever Kenton 1st XI score??. Despite battling the heat and fatigue, he continued to hit boundaries for fun, including a 6 into the car park that hit one of the Brentham player's car. Can't park there mate! Viraj also sits top of the leading run scorers in Division 2 with 352 @70.40.
The fun didn’t stop as Owen and Qudratullah Khiyal continued to send the ball miles, and Dyls eventually called the boys in at 365/3, with the 4th wicket partnership unbeaten on 57 in just 3.2 overs, taking 25 of the last over before the declaration. Owen finishing 66* (35) and Qudratullah 24* (10). 53 overs to bowl out Brentham and it was close, with them ending 9 down. Hem Shah took 3-96 in 16 overs while Kalpesh Kerai and Qudratullah scalped 2 each. Shoutout to Charles Erdwin for his direct hit run out as well. Winning draw.

Stoke Newington 2nd XI vs Kenton CC 2nd XI
The 2s made the long journey to Stoke Newington and were batting first after stand-in skipper Dilan Wanniarachchi won the toss. An interesting game to say the least saw us being bowled out for 126. Ajmal Jabarkheil top scoring with 22 (47) and stand-in skipper Dilan with an important 20 (37). What came next, however, the boys definitely did not expect. Ajmal and Prithvi Nakrani on absolute fire with the new ball, wrapping up the SNCC innings in just 17.3 overs, bowling them out for just 39? Ajmal took 5-13 in 8.3 overs while Prithvi took 4-19 in 9 as well as claiming a run out, utilising his long limbs to deflect a ball straight at him onto the stumps at the non-striker's end. Massive 12 points. Win by 87 runs.

Highgate CC 3rd XI vs Kenton CC 3rd XI
The 3s travelled to Highgate 3s and were batting first after skipper Rishi Toor won the toss. Rishi led from the front with a stellar 71(81), and Chirag Purohit chipped in with 26(40) but the boys could only manage 165. The boys batting the heat tried their hardest and came ever so close to pulling off a heist. With Highgate 109/5 at one point the boys' believed and had made a fantastic comeback in the game. Things got even more tense at 147/7 but the lower order saw Highgate over the finish line. Chirag and Dhiresh Kanji with 3-fers each, Chirag ending with figures of 3-33 bowling 13 overs in a row and Dhiresh with 3-49. Loss by 2 wickets.

Kenton CC 4th XI vs Stoke Newington CC 3rd XI
The 4s were hosting top of the table Stoke Newington 3s and were batting first after captain Deepak Singh won the toss. Deepak and Roshan Desai opened the batting. Deepak was dismissed, caught behind in the 5th over and Rahil Patel received a batting promotion to number 3. After batting 11 all his life, this definitely came as a shock to him. He initially watched on as Desai took the attack to the SNCC bowlers before he was dismissed for a jug avoiding 48 (41), hitting 4 fours and 5 sixes in the process. A returning Jonny Rye from injury then came to the crease and he also continued the attack before a good catch saw the end of him. Rahil then looked comfortable, hitting 5 fours and a 6, before he was controversially dismissed on 39 (44). It was then Kush Majithia, playing his first game in 3 years, coming back with a bang, hitting 54 (57) in at number 7, including 8 fours.. You could hear the roar of his father and 1s scorer Anand Majithia who was especially pleased with his innings. He helped the 4s get up to 211, a respectable score but probably slightly short on a fantastic deck to bat on. An early wicket from Rahil and a couple scalps from youngster Jaisal Jansari saw SNCC 87/3, it looked like we were in the game but the next partnership took the game away from us completely. Loss by 6 wickets.
