Kenton CC 1st XI vs London Tigers CC 1st XI
The 1s hosted London Tigers at home looking to bounce back after last week’s defeat. Skipper Dylan, as he seems to always do, won the toss and bowled first. LTCC openers took a liking to pace on the ball and scored freely early on. At drinks the boys re-grouped and this is where the game turned in our favour. Tejpal with the first breakthrough, before Kalps joined the party, both taking 2 each. But it was youngster Hem Shah with his first KCC 1st XI fifer that really turned the tide in our favour. LTCC went from 134/1 to 197/9. Lower order runs again helped them up to 233 all out as Hem finished with 6/46 from 15.3 overs. Onto the batting, and Saj and Abbas got us off to a flyer. Saj the aggressor while Abbas batted risk-free and kept things ticking. They put on 115 for the first wicket before Abbas fell on 49. Kalpesh and Owen came out looking to score and get the job done quickly, however they fell along with Akshay who did well to soak up pressure. Chich then finished the job, keeping a cool head with 31* to see us home by 3 wickets. A big win and 10 points for the boys.

Kenton CC 2nd XI vs South Hampstead CC 2nd XI
The 2s travelled to South Hampstead to take on their 2s. Skipper Roshan won the toss and we were fielding. Prithvi got us on the board, before Utkarsh took back to back 5 wicket hauls. This time, 5-36 in 16 overs. Milind also took 2 wickets and a run out to round the innings off. SHCC 151 all out. In reply, we were in some trouble at 42/3. Karsh and Qudratullah put on 41 for the 4th wicket before Karsh was dismissed. Youngster Qudratullah showed his class again with the bat with 70 off just 57 to back up his century 2 weeks ago to help bring the boys home before Danushka knocked off the final runs. Important win for the 2s by 3 wickets.

Kenton CC 3rd XI vs North Middlesex CC 4th XI
The 3s made the long journey to take on North Middlesex CC 4s. Skipper Jonny lost the toss and we were batting first. A good opening stand from skipper Jonny and Rajiv meant we were 61/0. However, this is when things didn't go our way and after that partnership was broken, wickets tumbled. From 61/0 we were 154/9. This was until Raj Parmar and Prish Roy dug in for the 10th wicket. These two, normally mentioned for their bowling helped us get to a somewhat respectable 189 before Prish fell after hitting 22 off 46 balls batting at 11. Onto the defence, and Jameel as he has been this season was breathing fire as he took 5-29 in 11 overs. Unfortunately, things didn't go as well for our other bowlers and NMCC chased it 7 down to hand the 3s their first loss of the season. Plenty to play for as the boys still sit top of the table and will look to bounce back in 2 weeks time as they have a game off next weekend.

Kenton CC 4th XI vs Perivale Phoenicians 3rd XI
The 4s hosted Perivale Phoenicians CC 3s at home. Dippy lost the toss and we were fielding. PPCC made good use of the great batting surface and short boundaries as they piled on the runs. Tempers flared from both sides throughout the game but this did not stop PPCC from continuing to score at a fast rate as they got to a massive 331 all out in 44.3 overs. The boys were up for the chase Abhishek and Dippy up top scored at a fast rate, as too did Sahil on debut, hitting some big shots. After them 3 and Manoj were dismissed, we had to resort to blocking out for a draw. A huge shoutout has to go to Bishan Shah and Vraj Bhatt. They soaked up immense pressure and took some nasty blows to the body but still dug in to help the boys earn the losing draw. Vraj with 27 off 79 before he was dismissed and then Bishan, who definitely woke up feeling sore in the morning, with 29* off 89 after keeping for almost 45 overs in the heat. That warrior mentality is what KCC is all about. A tough few weeks for the 4s but no doubt they will be back next week.

21 points this weekend, much better than last week. Still improvements to be made but it is a long season and we will still push for 4 promotions!
