West Harrow CC 1st XI vs Kenton CC 1st XI
The 1s travelled to West Harrow CC and were fielding first. Stand-in skipper Viraj Patel lost the toss and we were fielding first. A Dylan Assani-sized hole was left in the 1s side as he was banned from playing cricket by his wife after getting married the day before. (We clearly know who wears the trousers in the relationship!) Hem Shah and Kalpesh Kerai took responsibility with the ball in his absence, taking 5-35 in 12 and 3-64 in 16.5 respectively. WHCC were reduced to 152 all out in just 46.5 overs. The batsmen found it tough on a turning wicket, we found ourselves 42/3 and then 93/9 although Viraj got a start with 29, as well as Owen O'Neill-Khaled with 28. and eventually we were bowled out for 130 with Waaris Deen remaining not out on 30. Loss by 22 runs.

Kenton CC 2nd XI vs Finchley CC 2nd XI
The 2s hosted Finchley 2s at the Alan Digby Ground and were batting first after stand-in skipper Dilan Wanniarachchi. The top order failed to get us going and we were reduced to 47/5 early on. Party animals Puneet Pattni and Chirag Purohit dug in for a while before Puneet was dismissed on 40 (55) but we could only manage 165 all out. The bowlers then succumbed to some brutal hitting with one Finchley batter scoring 70 in a remarkable 22 balls. Despite Zakirullah Khiyal picking up 2 wickets, he and the rest of the bowlers were expensive and had very few answers to the onslaught as FCC chased the target inside 20 overs. Loss by 7 wickets.

Kenton CC 3rd XI vs Ealing CC 4th XI
The 3s hosted Ealing 4s and were batting first after skipper Rishi Toor lost the toss. Despite skipper Toor hitting 51 (57), the rest of the batting failed to make a big enough impact and eventually we were 194/9 in 50 despite starts from Searan Karamchandani 26 (53) and Yug Patel 29 (60). It was a pretty comfortable chase for Ealing who chased it inside 36 overs despite Ravi Patel picking up an early breakthrough and claiming a run out. Loss by 6 wickets.

Friends United CC 3rd XI vs Kenton CC 4th XI
The 4s travelled to Friends United and were batting first after skipper Deepak Singh lost the toss. On a difficult deck after being reduced to 18/3, Jonny Rye dug in and played a match-winning knock of 75 (118). An innings full of grit and determination, battling the heat, Rye struck 11 fours in his innings. He was supported largely by Sahil Goswami's 47 (52), an innings that included 4 sixes, and the boys managed to get to 208/9 in 46 before skipper Dippy declared, feeling 208 would be more than enough on that deck. Youngster Jaisal Jansari continued his form this season, picking up 3 early wickets and ending with figures of 3-52 in 8 overs and FUCC were also 18/3 at one point. We kept picking up wickets with Ravi Jilka spinning a web around the middle order, taking 2 wickets before Hiten Kara took 3 wickets in 1 over. That over included an absolute screamer at catching cover from Ketu Thaker, who on one leg, somehow managed to stick out a left hand and the ball actually stuck! Hiten ended with 3-12 from 3.2 overs. Rishabh sealed the deal with a fantastic piece of fielding to inflict a run out. 157 all out, a massive 12 points for the 4s. Win by 51 runs.

Harrow Town CC CV XI vs Kenton CC CV XI
The CV side travelled to Harrow Town and were bowling first after skipper Hem Shah lost the toss. Prithvi Nakrani was the pick of the bowlers with 3-56 in his 10 overs but HTCC posted a massive 302/8. The chase never got going from the start but Saif Butt's dismissal was hilarious as he went down to sweep on one knee and was given LBW after the ball hit his box. The poor lad was in pain for a while but eventually was able to walk back unaided to the pavilion. We were 144 all out with Vinay Halai top scoring with 30 (41). Loss by 158 runs.
