Kenton CC 1st XI vs Bessborough CC 1st XI
The 1s hosted Bessborough CC 1st XI and were bowling first after returning skipper Dylan Assani lost the toss. Charles Erdwin, in his 150th MCCL 1st XI game, led the charge, taking 4 wickets in his first spell. He ended with figures of 4-78 from 16 overs and was supported by the skipper Dylan, who took 2 in his opening spell and ended with 2-80 from 14 overs. Despite the fact that groundsman Manoj Prasanga had produced another belter of a deck for batting on, BCC were reduced to 102/8 with the boys very much on top. The BCC tail very much wagged to say the least. The final 2 wickets put on 216 to help BCC post a massive 328 all out in 49.1 overs. Hem Shah finished the job with 2-52 in 7.1 overs. After 2 early wickets, Kalpesh Kerai's first 50 of the season, along with young gun Qudratullah Khiyal, steadied the ship before both were dismissed - Kalpesh on 52 and Qudratullah on 43. Owen O'Neill-Khaled and Waaris Deen then took complete control and turned the game in our favour. z Owen brought up his ton in just 65 balls - hitting 8 fours and 8 huge sixes - before being dismissed the very next ball, and Waaris was run out after a well-made 67 - himself hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes - continuing his amazing form with the bat this season. Lets take a minute to speak about Owen because that guy is a joke. Hitting the ball in places a cricket ball should not go with brute force. Upto 393 runs for the season now, overtaking our very own Viraj Patel at the top of Division 2's leading run scorers. It was then left to Yashil Kamdar and Roshan Patel, who finished the job. It was a nervy ending, but Roshan’s scoop for 6 released all the pressure, and the boys brought it home with just 3 balls to spare. Pure emotions in the dressing room from the boys as they knew the magnitude of this win. A statement win and the 1s will be looking to continue this next weekend as they host Highgate. Win by 2 wickets.

Harrow CC 2nd XI vs Kenton CC 2nd XI
The 2s travelled to Harrow CC and were bowling first after stand-in skipper Dilan Wanniarachchi won the toss. Ajmal Jabarkheil struck in the first over, continuing his form with the ball. Abhishek Jha and Ajmal were well on top, reducing HCC to 78/7. The 7th wicket saw an incredible diving effort from skipper Dilan off Ajmal, mirroring Jordan Pickford's save to deny Raul Jimenez for England against Mexico. Abhishek ended with 4-70 in 17 overs and Ajmal with 3-44 in 16. before Sohail Butt finished the job with 3-21 for himself in 6.2 overs. 162 all out. The boys succumbed to a total batting collapse and ended up 107 all out, despite Rajiv Soneji's 35 (103) who really dug in but just ran out of batting partners. Loss by 55 runs.

Brentham CC 3rd XI vs Kenton CC 3rd XI
The 3s travelled to league leaders Brentham 3s and were bowling first after skipper Rishi Toor won the toss. Brentham got off to a decent start, but the returning, newly-married, Pranav Shah, back like he never left, took 5-72 in 21.1 overs to reduce Brentham to 193 all out. Unfortunately, the chase never got going from the start. 47/3 became 72/7 very quickly. It was left to skipper Rishi and Dhiresh Kanji to save the game and to bring home a draw, and that they did. Rishi with 35* (84) and Dhiresh with the more remarkable innings of 0* (60). Fair play to Dhiresh for keeping his discipline which has earnt him a spot in my TOTW (check the instagram). "More blocks than legoland" and "more leaves than a tree" as they say. Losing draw for the 3s.

Kenton CC 4th XI vs North London CC 3rd XI
The 4s hosted high flying North London 3s and were fielding after stand-in skipper Samit Patel won the toss. After an early breakthrough via youngster Jaisal Jansari, NLCC took complete control, posting 299/3dec in 46 overs. Despite this however the boys never let the game slip out of reach and kept fighting. The chase got off to a flyer with Samit and Ravi Patel taking the game to the NLCC and putting up an opening partnership of 50 in just 7 overs, followed by Kushal Subasinghe at 3 who hit 40 (35) . However, once all 3 were dismissed, the chase never looked likely, and wickets started to fall, especially after the returning Danushka Lazarus was out. It was left on the shoulders of Anish Kerai and Ravi Jilka, who was born for this type of scenario. The 2 of them commendably battled for 8.1 overs to protect the final wicket, batting with a solid defence and mental strength which has also meant they make my TOTW (again, check the instagram). Jilka ended on 8* (35) and Anish on 6* (21), with Anish hitting a boundary on the final ball. Losing draw.
