Harrow:

After a 12 pointer the weekend before, Kenton were looking for more points as they welcomed Harrow to the Alan Digby Ground.

Skipper won the toss and elected to field first. Harrows openers were aggressive and punished anything loose from our bowlers early. Dyls struck to remove one opener. Before the 2nd wicket added 50.

After a missed chance, Charlie picked up our second and Kalps our third in the next over leaving Harrow 110-3.

Another 50 partnership for Harrows 4th wicket took them to 166-3 before Kalps and Asif struck in back to back overs to halt the momentum at 167-5. This became 177-6 once Asif grabbed another.

Harrow ticked along and Hem managed to ge the big fish of Devon Smith well caught by Saj on the boundary.

Kenton chipped away and we managed to bowl Harrow out for 238. A score that we were happy with at the interval and believed we could chase down.

Things did not go to plan. Harrow with some tight bowling and Kenton with some rash shots left us in trouble at 21-4 after 10 overs. This then became 31-5 as wickets fell cheaply. Once Quad went for 5 the score was at 42-6 and we were in huge trouble.

Schops played how Schops does and took the attack to Harrow as he launched 8 fours and 7 6’s as he and Chich put on 60 for the 7th wicket.

Once Schops fell for 87, scoring became difficult. Chich the only other batsmen to reach double figures with a respectable 25*.

In the end after the bravest shot I’ve seen attempted all season by our very own Charles, Kenton’s chase was over as we were all out for 135.

Disappointing day at the office as there was a huge chance of getting back into the promotion mix but an opportunity missed. Harrow played superbly and were deserved winners.
