Not playing for anything now and with 3 games left in the season. Kenton welcomed newly promoted Eastcote.

Both teams had changed the personnel from the first fixture and it looked like it would be a good game for the spectators.

Eastcote won the toss and elected to bat which was ideal as Dylan also wanted to bowl.

Asif struck early to remove one opener at the score of 9 runs. Dyls and Asif bowled brilliantly as Eastcote were 12-1 off 10 overs. A partnership for the second wicket was going well for Eastcote until the other opener guided one off Dyls to Owen at slip.

Kenton struck again soon after with Charlie getting in on the act removing Eastcotes number 3. Eastcote put on 50 for the 4th wicket when Quadi picked up the big scalp of Eastcote’s keeper who scored 50 the first game.

A second 50 partnership for the 5th wicket managed to get Eastcote back on track for a big score until Charlie had other ideas. In the last over of his spell, Chaz bowled a triple wicket maiden to turn the game on its head.

As Eastcote’s tail wagged, asif came on to clean up and Kenton were chasing 217 for victory. Huge shout out to Asif for his 4-14 off 8.5 overs and Charlie for 4-62 off his 9.

Kenton’s chase got off to a flyer. Schops the aggressor going after every bowler. As the ball flew around our huge ground Abbas and Schops took us to 84 for the first wicket. Schopy with a destructive 53 off 23 balls. Yikes.

Abs and Chich kept the momentum with Abs taking the role of the aggressor as he brought up a well deserved 50.

When Chich departed for a patient 25 the score was 167-2. A brilliant partnership of 83 for the second wicket.

Saj joined Abs and started well before one kept slightly low to bowl Saj. 4 runs later Abs departed for 58(59). Quad joined Akshay at the crease and looked to be positive. In his 19 it included 2 sixes and 1 four. However as he tried to end the game with a boundary, we still required 5 runs for victory.

Owen and Akshay ensured there were no surprises to the result as Kenton chased 218 in 28 overs.

Really good win for the boys over a promoted side and will no doubt give the lads confidence after back to back losses. A trip to Spikes Bridge Park awaits this week as we head to London Tigers looking for another victory.
