Toss: Kenton won the toss and elected to field.
Game 2, and with what looked a strong line up on paper, Kenton 3s made the journey overseas to Twickenham. However, cricket is not played on paper. The bowling was tight and disciplined without much or any luck. The spin twins of Ankit Shah and Tushal Nath controlling the middle overs brilliantly. The size of the ground being alien to some, and would lead to some poor ground fielding in the last 15 to allow the opposition and extra 30 runs. The batting whilst started poorly, recovered well, and at 90-3, with two set batsmen and the chairman waiting to come in, Kenton looked in a good place. Unfortunately, that was as good as it got. Roll forward 10 overs, some poor shot selection and some generous umpire (Hameed, yes I am still bitter) decisions all resulted in a much too often experienced, Kenton collapse…90-3 becomes 116 all out and the journey home begins with some much soul searching. A case of what could have been but a reality check to us all that every run in the field is one to be made with the bat….roll on next week
