Toss: Twickenham won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Game week 11, after a important win against Indian Gym time to put a marker down for promotion. Avengers was assembled against a inform Twickenham. Scorching hot weather with hardly any breeze toss was crucial to win, unfortunately this was lost but a massive surprise of Twickenham’s decision to bowl in this heat, Kenton was happy with this decision, and it proved right.
Kenton was off to a flyer with Saif and Waheedullah putting on a 60-run opening partnership something that they are familiar with doing throughout the season. The partnership was broken with Saif getting out caught at square leg when it should of gone for six! Waheedullah kept the pressure on with one over hitting four boundaries in a row, with Hameed supporting. A very unexpected stumping that caught Waheedullah knapping changed the game. All of a sudden Kenton were 4 down in rapid time. Mini partnership was formed by Hameed who was anchoring the innings with Pranav Dave. With that partnership broken another wicket fell. Hameed hitting a valuable 57 eventually getting out. What propelled Kenton getting to 242 was lower contributions from Rikin (36 not out) and Ravi Patel (21 not out), Kenton declaring at the 46th over mark to give them a chance of grabbing the important 12 points.
Kenton opened the bowling with their regular pair, Prishant Roy and Ravi Patel whom both hit the ground running. Both openers fell cheap with Ravi bowling an exceptional spell of 7 overs 10 runs for 3 wickets. Then the heat turned up, Prishant Roy chipping in with the wickets finishing off with figures of 11 overs 25 runs 4 wickets. Kenton was basically unplayable. Rikin Patel and Pranav Shah coming in chipping in with wickets. Not much you can add from Twickenham’s performance with the bat, heat got to them tough day in the field. But a brilliant effort on the field with Pranav Dave taking 3 important catches. Massive 12 points opening up the gap between 2nd and 3rd with Kenton pushing Crouch end all the way. On to the new week as Kenton hosting Finchley.
