Toss: Finchley CC 3s won the toss and decided to bat first.
Gameweek 3, and another away game at Finchley. A steady bowling performance spearheaded by Prish, who returned 5-44 in 9 overs, taking a wicket off the first ball of the match, was again undermined by some dropped catches and allowed a score of 245 to be reached by the opposition, when a score of 180-190 seemed a fairer reflection. In reply, Kenton began like a steam train with hameed and samit putting on 57 in 7 overs. Kenton made steady progress to reach 100-2 at a good rate to have the game tilting towards them. Unfortunately, two quick wickets meant this became 107-4 and the game was now firmly in the balance. Some controlled bowling and a period of sitting in began as the game coaster along for the next 7overs. Both teams happy at the 30over mark it seemed. Then the move came and Kenton attacked. Pranav dave, Pranav shah and Ravi patel upping the ante and the boundary count and Kenton quickly moved onto 207-5. But once again the game we love bite back, the oppo having an inspired bowling change and Kenton found themselves 218-8 in a flash, losing bot set batsmen and Pranav dave falling agonisingly 1 run short of a 50 trying to steal a single. With that Kenton hopes of a win went him back to the pavilion (grass bank where Kenton were sat). Kenton would eventually fall 7 short, in a game of what could and should have been. 8 points lost. This story highlights, catches win matches and chance given MUST be grasped.
