Toss: North London 4s won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Game week 8 and a home fixture against North London. NL arrived at Kenton second in the table and having a strong season, including an impressive win against table toppers crouch end. NL won the toss and inserted Kenton on would seemed a soft wicket at first glance. The opening bowling was tight and disciplined but Kenton managed to see off the first 12 overs without loss and reached 40-0. However, on a difficult wicket, this quickly became 40-2. Kenton, through Samit and Krunal began the rebuild and ticked over to reach their 50 run partnership and get Kenton over the 100 mark just before 25overs. Now with a base to attack from, Kenton went after the bowling and put the foot down. Samit reached his 50 but just as he and Sajjad look set to make hay, he fell to a terrible LBW decision from one of his own! Enter Pranav Dave, Mr form. In the next 12 overs, the two batsmen went about their business to propel the score from 124-4 to 221-5. Sajjad reached an aggressive 72 off 54 balls, including 2 sixes, 10 boundaries and not a lot of running. Kenton would eventually declare on 257 in the 46th over.
NL innings never really started and Kenton made the new ball talk. Prishant Roy taking out two early, to be then supported by Mo ali, who returned 3-25 from his initial 10 overs. NL found themselves 19-5, and the game looked like going one way. However, NL are not second without good reason, and a solid partnership formed, with some lusty cut shots to get Nl to 83. Enter Mr Prajapati and the golden arm! Breakthrough. Kenton chipped away, with wickets shared amongst the bowlers to run out victorious by a margin of 123 runs. A very good all rounder performance, where dropped catches did not cost the home side, except for time at the bar.
