Kenton openers didn’t start off to well losing both openers for just 7 runs in a few overs. Waheedullah coming in changed the game with him hitting at a strike rate of 110 scoring 21 runs before being ran out where there was no single. 35-3 Kenton losing wickets in a flurry and all of a sudden 78-7 . Ravi Patel coming in with Yug batting along extremely well and set, putting on a partnership of 17 before Ravi getting out caught behind. In comes in the temp skipper at 10, knowing eating up the overs and scoring over 140 will give Kenton something to hang on to. Yug and Prish putting on a partnership of 49 depleted the Indian Gym before Yug after a fantastic knock getting out, by Ramneek Singh who finished on figures of 6 for 53. A nice solid stand with Prish and Devesh scrapping away runs. Kenton ending on 154 all out.
Indian Gym’s innings started off with a flyer their opener Abhinav and Amrit, seeing off the opening bowlers. Bowling change was required with Devesh coming on to bowl, kept the end tight, constantly made chances happen and was taking wickets finishing his spell with figures of 15 overs 3 wickets for 28 runs. This was supported by several Kenton’s bowlers. Pranav and Vijay chipping in with 1 wicket each, rotation on the cards. In comes the wildcards, the bowling change that worked miracles as India gym looked on course with a win at 106-5 needing only 49 runs and plenty of overs in the bank to win. Rikin Patel and Karan Sharma bowling with heat changed the game. Rikin getting two wickets in two balls with Karan chipping away at their tail ending up winning us the game both getting a combined 5 wickets for 7.5 overs and ONLY conceding 13 runs. Kenton with a massive win leaving them 12 points behind Crouch End and 9 points ahead of Twickenham. Great result, great team work and brilliant performances from Devesh, Yug and Rikin.
