Kenton 4s travelled to Regents Park to play against Brondesbury 5th XI.

Toss: Kenton 4s won the toss and decided to field first.

A day trip to Regents Park with a much changed XI and a number of debuts for Kenton Colts versus Brondesbury was what Week 4 had in store for the 4th XI. The pitch looked like a typical park pitch and one which would deteriorate over the course of the match but we took a risk to field first after winning the toss. A mixed bag with the opening bowlers with Zabiullah bowling good lines and lengths at one end and Ethesham struggling with any consistency at the other. A key dropped catch early on of the opener was costly when he went on to make 74. Zabiullah ended bowling two 6 over spells and finishing with figures of 3-44. A debut by Quadratullah was first change and he bowled with impressive pace in his first game and took a deserved wicket and only conceding 21 runs in his 7 overs. Snehal finally got to show his bowling skills and bowled a tidy spell of 8 overs 0-30. Our leggie was able to rip through the Brondesbury middle order and Mihir took 3-46 from 11 overs. Harshul bowled 1 over but took 2 wickets to finish off the Brondesbury innings on 170. If the catch had been taken early on we could have been chasing half that total, something the boys will need to improve on going forward.

Kenton innings opened with a new combination! Snehal and the under rated Harshdeep. Snehal scored two quick boundaries but flashed at one too many and was out in the first over. Sanjay followed in the second over of the match missing a straight one. We needed a partnership and Harshdeep and Zabiullah stepped up. The partnership took us from 11-2 to 81-3. Harshdeep looked solid all innings and was rotating strike with Zab who showed a lot of maturity. Once Zab was out the captain and Harshdeep took the game away and we scored the winnings runs 3 down and 10 overs to spare. Well done Harshdeep, Mihir, Zab and the debutants for another solid performance. 3 wins from the last 3, can we keep this form going..........
