On a hot, humid day in the outback of Boston manor playing fields, Kenton cc won the toss and elected to bat on a questionable wicket. Kenton batted slow and steady with great caution. Unfortunately, the wicket, with up and down bounce off the ridges at either end meant building momentum was difficult. At 49-4, Kenton's decision to bat seemed a questionable one, but a solid 89 run partnership between B Shah (57)and K Subasinghe (38) allowed Kenton to regroup. WH began to wilt under the sun and runs began to flow in the last 10. KCC finishing on 196-8 off 50. In reply, WH in reply went on the attack. In conjunction with some poor catching and occasional loose balls, it allowed WH to reach 129-3, with R Rafiq (50) controlling the response. However, Kenton rang the changes and with Abishek and Ravi, Kenton were able to address the run flow with wickets, 149-6 and take control of the rate to bring the game back into KCC favour. Unfortunately, as the winning draw seemed close, 4 loose balls allowed the building pressure to be released. WH secured the winning draw with 3 overs to go and now had their sights on the win, which in turn allowed Kenton to snaffle another wicket. In the end WH finished on 181-7 off their allocated overs. A losing draw for Kcc.
