The 4s made their journey to Hornsey who currently sit at the top of the table. The boys were quietly confident they could get something out of this game and hopefully kick-start their season again.
Dippy won the toss and chose to bowl first on a deck that looked very green and soft. The opening bowlers Ravi and Abhishek bowled really well as the Hornsey batsman were made to grind it out as they were on 11 after 9 overs. Hornsey then grew into the game as the bowlers started to tire and started to bowl a couple bad balls in each over which the Hornsey bats put away. Hornsey in the next 14 overs as they ended up 85-1 after 23 overs. The Hornsey batsman continued to bat well putting away the couple bad balls in each over. Hornsey finished up with a toral of 232-7 after 47 overs giving kenton 45 overs in return.
Big shoutout to Ravi, bowling a huge 15 over spell and 3 wickets from Mihir towards the end.
In return the Kenton chase never got started as Kenton saw themselves 52-5 in the hope that they could play out for a draw. This was looking quite unlikely as Kenton were 9 down with 57 balls to block out for the draw. The valiant work from Mihir and 13 year old Neil Jesani exceeded expectations and showed some incredible grit to keep out the Hornsey bowlers in which brought the Kenton boys an important 1 point which could hopefully be a start of much needed fight for the back of the season.
The boys are back home next week where they face Twickenham which looks to be yet again another massive game for the context of the season.
